GENERAL
About TributeHarbor
Basic questions about the platform and how it works.
What is TributeHarbor?
+
TributeHarbor is a digital condolence and memorial platform
designed to help families remember a loved one, share funeral
information, receive condolence messages and connect with
relatives and friends who may not be able to attend in person.
Is TributeHarbor a funeral home?
+
No. TributeHarbor is a digital platform. We are designed to
work alongside funeral homes and families rather than replace
funeral professionals or traditional funeral services.
Do visitors need to download an app?
+
No. TributeHarbor works through a website. Visitors can open
a memorial link directly from WhatsApp, social media, email
or a QR code using their phone, tablet or computer.
MEMORIALS
Creating & Managing a Memorial
Who can request a memorial?
+
A close family member, authorized family representative
or participating funeral service provider may request
a memorial. TributeHarbor may ask for additional information
before approving the request.
Is a memorial published immediately after submission?
+
No. During the pilot stage, TributeHarbor reviews memorial
requests before publication. We may contact the submitter,
family representative or funeral service provider to confirm
important information.
What information can appear on a memorial?
+
A memorial may include the deceased person's name,
photograph, birth and passing dates, funeral information,
life story, livestream details, condolence messages and
other approved memorial content.
Can information be corrected after the memorial is published?
+
Yes. An authorized family representative can contact
TributeHarbor to request reasonable corrections or updates
to memorial information.
Can a family request removal of a memorial?
+
Yes. TributeHarbor can review removal requests from verified,
authorized family representatives. We may request information
to confirm the identity and authority of the person making the request.
FAMILY & FRIENDS
Visiting a Memorial
Can relatives overseas visit a memorial?
+
Yes. One of TributeHarbor's main purposes is to help
relatives and friends participate even when they are
unable to attend the funeral physically.
Can visitors leave condolence messages?
+
Where enabled, visitors can leave respectful condolence
messages and memories. TributeHarbor or the family may
moderate or remove inappropriate content.
Can a funeral livestream be included?
+
Yes. If the family or funeral service provider already
has a livestream available, the memorial may include
a link to that stream.
Can visitors share the memorial?
+
Yes. Public memorials may be shared through their website
link, WhatsApp, social media or QR code unless the family
requests additional privacy restrictions.
DIGITAL TRIBUTES & SUPPORT
Condolence Gifts & Family Support
What are digital tributes?
+
Digital tributes are symbolic gestures such as digital
flowers, memorial candles or condolence gifts that allow
someone to show their sympathy even when they cannot attend
the funeral in person.
Are real payments currently active?
+
TributeHarbor is currently in an early pilot stage.
Some payment and family-support features may not yet be
available. The website will clearly indicate when a
transaction feature is active.
Who receives family-support funds?
+
Where financial support is enabled, TributeHarbor intends
to use verified recipients and approved payment providers.
The exact payment flow and applicable fees will be shown
clearly before payment.
Does TributeHarbor replace traditional funeral flowers?
+
No. Digital tributes are simply another option.
Families and visitors may still choose traditional flowers,
wreaths or other culturally appropriate condolence practices.
FUNERAL HOMES
Working With TributeHarbor
How can a funeral home work with TributeHarbor?
+
TributeHarbor is initially working with selected funeral
service providers in Penang. Funeral homes interested in
joining the pilot can contact TributeHarbor directly.
Does funeral-home staff need to manage complicated software?
+
Not during the initial pilot. TributeHarbor can assist with
preparing memorial pages from information supplied by the
funeral home and family.
Can the funeral home be shown on the memorial?
+
Yes. Where appropriate, a participating funeral service
provider may be identified on the memorial as the funeral
provider or verification partner.
PRIVACY & VERIFICATION
Protecting Families
Why does TributeHarbor verify memorial requests?
+
Verification helps reduce false memorials, unauthorized
use of personal information and fraudulent requests.
This becomes especially important when financial support
or public sharing is involved.
Should sensitive personal information be submitted?
+
No. Users should not submit passwords, banking credentials
or other unnecessary sensitive information through a public
memorial request form.
Who controls memorial information?
+
TributeHarbor aims to respect the wishes of the authorized
family representative. Requests involving conflicting family
instructions may require additional review before changes are made.
Still Have a Question?
TributeHarbor is currently in its early Penang pilot stage. Some features, policies and service processes may evolve as we work with real families and funeral service providers.
